Leave A Mark - Adopt A Park
Avondale has launched a new Adopt A park program, encouraging residents, community organizations and businesses to become directly involved in improving city parks. By adopting a park, individuals will be helping the city by performing simple tasks such as picking up litter, painting, weeding and helping to plant flowers, or providing direct monetary assistance for park enhancements. In return, Avondale will recognize their contributions through signage bearing their names in the adopted park.
Adopt A Park allows residents, particulary those who use the city's parks regularly, to show pride in their community. The Adopt A park program also provides opportunities for local service organizations, youth and church groups, and neighborhoods to take part in ongoing community services activities, such as picking up litter and performing other tasks to keep the parks clean and beautiful.
